Girls and Boys in Grades 5,6,7 and 8 Celebrate National Poetry Month (April) by entering Central Square Library's second annual Poetry Contest and Party Sponsored by Central Square Library, Little Women's Club (a club to build, encourage and promote self-esteem), and Cambridge Tree Project.

Submit an original poem by April 1, 2000 to Central Square Library Children's Room

A special prize for tree poems!

Winning poems will be judged for interesting content, understandability, and consistent and imaginative style.

Winners will read their poems and receive prizes at our Poetry Party<> Tuesday, April 25, 2000 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Attention Teachers! (of grades 5,6,7 and 8)

Your students can compete in 2 poetry competitions!

Competition 1: Outstanding Class Poem Each of your students can submit 1 original poem t o compete for the honor of "Outstanding Poem" from your class. The winner (from your class) will receive a certificate of excellence and the opportunity to read his/her poem at the Central Square Library's Poetry Party.
One poem per page, please.
Deadline to submit April 1, 2000.

Competition 2: Individual Competition
If any of your students wish to submit a poem to the individual contest (and compete with students from 5,6,7 and 8th grades), each must submit a different poem than the one used in the class competition. Winners will read their poems and receive prizes at our poetry party.
